Religion can be an important factor in a patient’s medical decision-making process and treatment. The Trigger Topics are 15 different areas in health care where religion commonly emerges and impacts care.
The Trigger Topic Fact Sheets are bite-sized free resources with practical knowledge which providers can apply when caring for religiously and culturally diverse patients.
The fact sheets feature initial questions for providers to consider along with questions to ask patients about each Trigger Topic. Each fact sheet also includes three case examples. The case examples demonstrate how the Trigger Topic might emerge in different religious traditions and provide specific recommendations.
