Peacemaker Retreats

Working retreats bring together Peacemakers from all over the globe. The Peacemakers receive training both from one another and from international experts. They are also a chance for the Peacemakers to spend time with others who share their critical but dangerous vocation and re-charge themselves for the important work to come.

MADISON, NEW JERSEY (2011)

During the retreat, the Peacemakers focused on solidifying their relationships and forming a formal Network to support each other, share techniques and experiences, project their work beyond their immediate networks, and speak with a collective voice. Out of this effort, the Peacemakers in Action Network was born.

SARAJEVO, BOSNIA (2007)

Sixteen Peacemakers – all identified for their brave religious peacemaking work, came from across the globe, including such conflict zones as Colombia, Pakistan, and Nigeria. The group was also received by the Bosnian Presidency, who presented Tanenbaum’s 2006 and 2007 awards.

NEW YORK CITY (2005)

Through interactive training sessions, interreligious brainstorming and action plans, and a session with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the 2005 Retreat reinforced our worldwide network of Peacemakers while publicly introducing two new recipients of the Peacemakers in Action award.

AMMAN, JORDAN (2004)

Tanenbaum convened the recipients of the Peacemakers in Action award for the first time in the program’s six-year history.
