As summer begins, multiple faiths celebrate and remember religious traditions and past accomplishments.
Eid al-Adha is a Muslim holiday honoring the story of Abraham’s (also known as Ibrahim) willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael to God, and God’s substitution of a ram in the sacrifice. Eid al-Adha is celebrated all over the world with prayer, mosque services, Qur’an reading, and quality time with family and friends. It will take place this year from sundown on June 16th to sundown on June 17th.
Pioneer Day, an official holiday in the State of Utah, commemorates the settling of Utah by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints fleeing religious persecution in Missouri and Illinois. Utahns and Members of the Church —in the U.S. and across the world—will celebrate the holiday on July 24th. Warm wishes to all who observe and celebrate!
