March 30th is National Doctors Day. A time to honor physicians who help save lives, everywhere.
In health care, medicine is the relationship between provider and patient with the goal of healing. Part of that process is acknowledging how religion and spirituality influence health and wellness, anywhere from activities of daily living to big picture metaphysical matters. Physicians can strengthen the practice of healing by learning how to navigate both their patients’ and their own beliefs.
The Health Care program’s Medical Manual for Religio-Cultural Competence supports doctors and health care professionals in building trusting relationships with religiously diverse patient populations.
We hope you have a happy and healthy National Doctors Day!
