Back to School

Dear Friends,

As summer turns to fall, we begin a Back to School season like no other. Students and teachers are returning to in-person learning for the first time in over a year, and all over the country schools are beginning to rebuild their communities.

After a year of uncertainty, schools are going back to basics: building inclusive and nurturing environments for students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. Tanenbaum’s education resources foster safe and healthy learning spaces by teaching students behaviors of respect:

  • Our World Olympics and Religions in My Neighborhood curricula are now available in second editions! Tanenbaum’s curricula for educators teach vital social and emotional skills and are fully aligned with national learning standards.

  • Our Seven Principles for Inclusive Education contain strategies for building behaviors of respect in students and are foundations for any inclusive classroom or lesson.

  • Explaining Extremism and Addressing Islamophobia contains practical resources for parents and teachers on responding to biased portrayals of Islam and is an excellent resource for National Bullying Prevention Month.

  • Individual lesson plans provide tools for building a respectful classroom community where students can explore each other’s religious and cultural differences.

  • Our Five Ways to Avoid Falling Prey to Fake News is an invaluable guide to media literacy that is appropriate for classroom reading.

Our Education program is happy to answer any questions you may have, either about these resources or on how to make your classroom an inclusive space. Contact us at [email protected].

Sincerely,

The Education Team
