Dear Friends,

As I reflect on my time with the Peacemakers in Action Network at Rose Castle last month for the Working Retreat, I dig deeper into the profound healing space that the Peacemakers created together.

The Peacemakers are pillars of their communities, and, in times of conflict, crisis, and devastation, those communities look to them for strength, guidance, and healing. But, who holds that space for the Peacemakers? We witnessed one of the answers at the Working Retreat: They do – together. Their collective solidarity resonated through the castle walls as they shared peacebuilding tools, techniques, stories, fears, and tears. Friar Ivo said it best:

“During this Peacemakers in Action Working Retreat in my spirit was created a magic, a real spell, lasting while traveling back to Bosnia, and it will last, I hope not only in me. Thank you all because you created it, as my choir Pontanima has been creating it with music. With love.”

Explore photos from the retreat and peek into some of the magic. You can also listen to some of that magic on BBC Radio’s episode featuring the Peacemakers recorded at the retreat here.

In friendship and solidarity, as modeled by the Peacemakers in Action,
