New York, NY, July 11, 2024: The Nissan Foundation named Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding a 2024 grant recipient.
The Nissan Foundation grant will help fund the expansion of Tanenbaum’s Education Advisory Board to distribute Tanenbaum’s social and emotional learning resources to over 1,000 students from grades K-12.
Rev. Mark Fowler, Tanenbaum’s CEO said, “Building respect for differences, including religious differences, starts at home and in the classroom. The 2024 Nissan Grant allows Tanenbaum to collaborate directly with educators to forge long-term paths for students of all backgrounds to become active and engaged community members, building a future of more respectful generations.”
“We’re honored to support the work of Tanenbaum,” said Chandra Vasser President of the Nissan Foundation and Nissan’s first Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. “The Nissan Foundation is about building community by valuing diversity, and this project, Celebrating Our Traditions: Foundations for Building Communities that Value Religious Diversity, from Tanenbaum brings that mission to life.”
