Faith & Race with Kameron Smalls

We close Black History Month with our final reflection from none other than Kameron Smalls, the producer of the podcast Black and Sikh.

“Because I grew up in predominantly white spaces, it was so important to make sure my Blackness was reflected back to me. That I could see myself in the images and in the media that I consumed. It’s important for me to maintain my culture, my identity, and the things I’m proud of as I practice this faith.”

Watch Kameron’s full video here. You can watch all reflections from Tanenbaum’s Faith and Race series on our YouTube page.

Our series does not end here. Tanenbaum honors the many intersections of our identity, including faith and race, in our daily work. If you or someone you know are interested in submitting a reflection, we’d love to hear from you. Share your story with us here.
