The narrative surrounding religion and sexual identity has often been depicted as conflicting or contradictory components of a person’s identity.
As part of our Faith and Pride series, we asked LGBTQ+ people of faith to share how the two connect instead of divide.
When reflecting on how he navigated his religious upbringing and queer identity, Ross Murray, Vice President of GLAAD Media Institute, shares,
“I do advocacy work on behalf of the LGBTQ community to bring a narrative that says, ‘you do not have to choose between being gay and God, being queer and God.’”
