The Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs released a report examining how social media like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube can connect culturally and religiously diverse users and foster interreligious dialogue.
In the study, Bridging Babel: New Social Media and Interreligious Dialogue and Intercultural Understanding, researchers interviewed 39in-depth interviews with scholars, religious leaders and technology experts and compiled their best practices for utilizing social media. For example, among interviewees there was a consensus on the importance of finding a “common ground” when engaging in interreligious dialogue. Moreover, the study found that of the social media sites out there, Facebook and Twitter provide the most powerfully ways to communicate.
