Last week, nearly 60 Human Resources professionals came out to see Mark Fowler, Tanenbaum’s Director of Programs, present a session at the 2012 SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition in Atlanta, GA.
We were encouraged by the high turnout. Might this be a sign that religion is gaining as an important factor in workplace diversity? We hope so.
As with every SHRM event, Tanenbaum was honored to participate alongside talented and innovative Human Resources experts. Speakers from all over the globe offered a vast array of educational opportunities to HR professionals on the topics of talent management, international HR, employment law, leadership development, and business management.
Mark Fowler’s 75-minute session, entitled “Now What?!? The Nuances of Navigating Religious Diversity” was presented on the afternoon of Tuesday July 26th. The session gave participants the opportunity to work in small groups and learn from each other about the ways in which a company's policies and practices intersect with employees' religious (or nonreligious) beliefs. Through the use of interactive case studies, the session provided better practices, strategies, and communication tools to help participants create a more inclusive, respectful, and productive workplace culture.
Stay tuned to learn more about Tanenbaum’s participation in the 2012 SHRM Diversity & Inclusion Conference & Exposition which will be held this fall in Chicago, IL!
