Workplace Intern (Remote)

THE ORGANIZATION

Tanenbaum promotes justice and builds respect for religious difference by transforming individuals and institutions to reduce prejudice, hatred, and violence.

As a secular and non-sectarian non-profit, Tanenbaum works to promote religious peacebuilders who help counter extremism and violence in armed conflicts, and tackles religious bullying of students, harassment in workplaces, and disparate health treatment for people based on their beliefs.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM

Tanenbaum is the global leader in tackling religious bias in the workplace, pioneering religious diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts in global organizations. Tanenbaum’s Workplace Program liaises directly with multinational corporations, government agencies, and not-for-profits as they create policies and practices that allow employees of all faiths and none to bring their whole selves to work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in researching, drafting, and editing of programmatic resources and blogposts for Tanenbaum website and the Religion at Work online resource
  • Draft written memoranda including analyses of breaking political, social, and legal issues for program and executive staff.
  • Assist in planning and coordination of Workplace program events and/or webinars.
  • Assist in preparing program staff for local, national and/or international events.
  • Participate in meetings/conference calls in order to write up and disseminate meeting notes to staff
  • Serve as a member of the program team, participating in weekly meetings.
  • Support program capacity by managing files, archives and materials.
  • Working cross functionally with other Tanenbaum programs and departments as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Commitment to the mission and goals of Tanenbaum
  • Academic background and/or experience in religion/religious studies, DEI, intercultural communication, and/or organizational development.
  • Ability to analyze data and create clear written materials
  • Computer skills, including Windows, MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, and internet research
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Capable of representing Tanenbaum and the Workplace Program in a professional manner at all times
  • A sense of humor!

All work produced for Tanenbaum through this internship is the work product of Tanenbaum and may not be used by the Intern outside of Tanenbaum-authorized activities.

COMPENSATION

The Workplace Internship is an unpaid position. Tanenbaum will work with you and your school so that you can receive academic credit for the internship.
