Upcoming Fall Holidays of Celebration

From night to light, our approaching fall holidays are a source of so much: enjoyment, consolation, and inspiration. The next holidays this year are ones that have impacts felt across the world and across workplaces, schools, and care facilities alike.

More than just a day for trick-or-treating and parades, Halloween may have origins in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. It’s far from the only important holiday that occurs during this time – holidays such as All Saints Day, All Souls Day, and Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead also have a great deal of meaning for those who celebrate.

You can learn more about these roots, traditions, and observations in our Halloween Fact Sheet.

This year, millions will celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, merely days later on November 4th. Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists around the world celebrate this New Year festival. Diwali is also an official holiday in a number of countries in South Asia and around the world.

To learn more about Diwali and its potential implications at work and in communities across the world, please consult our Diwali Fact Sheet.

As always, our Workplace Resources page has these fact sheets and more. Should you have any other questions or specific situations, we at Tanenbaum are more than happy to help.
