What does that conjure in your mind? It can be difficult to think critically about conflicts that take place continents away. We internalize familiar narratives presented by media and perpetuated through popular culture because we just don’t have time to fully engage with every situation that demands our attention. However, we should take note of stories like this one from Haaretz, describing how town elders escorted a lone Israeli soldier back to the separation fence. Small reminders exist all around us—everyday people are constantly subverting common narratives foisted upon us. Partners for peace exist everywhere.
