On Jan. 22nd many in Asia and all over the world will begin celebrating the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival.

The Lunar New Year is celebrated differently depending on the region or country. Many celebrations may include an exchanging of gifts, fireworks, colorful decorations, such as festive flowers and lanterns, and holiday parades. Central to the holiday is the opportunity to gather with family and enjoy quality time.

Businesses and organizations should be prepared for employee requests for time off to observe the holiday with their families. Other institutions, such as schools, may choose to hold celebrations and/or close in recognition of the holiday.
