Tanenbaum’s 30th Anniversary evening features an exciting book talk with award-winning historian, author, and Tanenbaum friend Reza Aslan on his recently released book, An American Martyr in Persia: The Epic Life and Tragic Death of Howard Baskerville.

Following the journey of Howard Baskerville, an American Missionary sent to Iran to evangelize the population and ultimately finds himself fighting alongside his peers during the democratic revolution, An American Martyr in Persia highlights the complex and historic ties between America and Iran, and the potential of a single individual to change the course of history.
