We are so pleased to announce that the Munshi Bishan Singh Kochhar (MBSK) Foundation will be the recipient of Tanenbaum’s Philanthropic Bridge Builder Award at our 30th Anniversary Gala! This award is given to organizations lifting up the non-profit sector through social change. As part of its work to benefit the underprivileged, the MBSK Foundation supports efforts to educate the broader community on Sikh identity, practices, and beliefs. MBSK Foundation has been a critical Tanenbaum partner in promoting justice and building respect for religious differences since 2013. Together, we have helped thousands of students, educators, and community leaders across the health care and education fields as well as among the general public with needed resources for valuing our religious diversity. These include our nursing curriculum for religio-cultural competence, resources about Combating Extremism, or updates to our educational curricula. Foundation colleagues have also lent their valuable insight into vetting and strengthening our resources on Sikhism. In many ways, the MBSK Foundation has demonstrated its commitment to creating an inclusive society, and to promote understanding and celebration of Sikhism and our wider religious diversity.
