Tanenbaum recognized with social impact award

Dear Friends,

As a nonprofit, we often have the privilege of recognizing people for their outstanding work – but rarely have the privilege of being recognized in our own right. That’s why we were so excited to hear that Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP (SRZ) chose Tanenbaum for its 2014 Brooks Burdette Pro Bono Award.

The award recognizes public interest organizations that work on behalf of marginalized populations. It is named to honor the legacy of SRZ’s beloved and now deceased litigation partner, Brooks Burdette, who was the long-time chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and whose commitment to public interest work set a standard for others to follow.

“Tanenbaum is a national leader in education and training around religious diversity and tolerance,” said Daniel Greenberg, Special Counsel at SRZ. “Schulte Roth & Zabel believes that it deserves to be recognized for its important contributions.”

We are honored, but we also recognize that Tanenbaum is receiving this award because of you, Tanenbaum’s extended family. I thank you for standing with us in the day to day work of combating religious prejudice.

Tanenbaum has extraordinarily dedicated and talented staff who works every day for justice. But we are so much more than the employees who work within our office walls. We accomplish what we do because of your support, encouragement and friendship.

Together, Tanenbaum has become a force. Thank you for joining us in becoming a recognized leader.

With great appreciation,
