In 2000, Tanenbaum recognized Pastor James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa with the Peacemakers in Action award for their exemplary work in building peace across Christian and Muslim communities in Nigeria. Since that time, their work has expanded, as has recognition of their impact.
Most recently, UMass Boston announced that the peacemaking duo would receive honorary degrees at its upcoming commencement ceremony, in recognition of their achievements for peace. All of us at Tanenbaum offer our heartfelt congratulations to Imam Ashafa and Pastor James.
