Tanenbaum is thrilled to announced that Peacemaker in Action Betty Bigombe has been elected to the Ugandan Parliament, representing the Amuru district.
“Bigombe, who brokered peace talks between the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels and the Government, said she joined politics to contribute to the welfare of Ugandans more especially to the people of Amuru district…She promised to help the widows, orphans and youth who lost their opportunities to go to school and also empower women economically.” (New Vision)
